Space Escape
Created by Caleb Jones.
Modifications I ended up implementing:
- Retooled player movement to add variable jump height, as well as separate rising/falling gravity (learned that one from GDC, really helps with game feel).
- Designed a level, as well as a small starting room with a brief scripted sequence.
- Enabled enemies to drop key cards on death.
- Added key card display to UI.
- Added inter-scene fades as a URP render feature
- This one's been a long time in the making! So glad I got it rendering on top of UI finally.
- Pulled in Cinemachine and wrestled with it until I had a better platformer camera system.
- Updated checkpoint trigger animation to give more immediate feedback.
- Added new object that warps you back to checkpoints without killing you.
- Player now flickers during iframes (wrote for Raging Phoenix, then just copied the script into the new project).
- ...I think that might actually be everything I did that's worth mentioning
